Canvas, printed and stretched in the same building
Whether you bring an original artwork or a print-ready digital file, our team can help prepare it for production. That sentence is doing more work than it looks like it is doing: the scan, the color correction, the print, the stretching and the frame are all decided by the same people, so nothing arrives back from somewhere else with someone else’s idea of what the color should be.
The print
Archival giclée on canvas, printed with pigment inks on our new Epson SureColor P20000: a large color gamut, on canvas or paper, up to 64 inches wide. It is color-managed here from your file, and if what you have is not a file yet, it can be scanned on our large-format flatbed at up to 600 dpi first.
The stretching
Canvas giclées are stretched in house. That matters because a stretched canvas is only as good as its corners and its tension, and because the piece never leaves the building to have it done.
The frame, or not
A stretched canvas can hang exactly as it is. It can also go into a float frame, which surrounds the canvas with a narrow shadow gap instead of covering its edge, so the piece reads as an object sitting inside the frame rather than a picture behind one.
Which one is right depends on the wall it is going on, which is the sort of thing that gets settled in about a minute at the counter with the canvas in front of you.
