An in-house print lab, on the same floor as the framing.

Best Framing does fine art printing and scanning in its own print lab in Costa Mesa, Orange County. From scanning original artwork to producing fine-art prints and large-format graphics, our Costa Mesa team manages color, materials and finishing in-house. Flatbed scanning up to 600 dpi, archival giclée, and UV printing that goes straight onto wood, acrylic or aluminum.

Yes to the original you would rather not risk.

A one-of-a-kind painting, a fragile family photograph, or a piece too large for a traditional scanner. It is reproduced here, and the original goes back on the wall or into its frame untouched.

  • On the flatbed

With flatbed scanning we can achieve up to 600 dpi. Art and photographs go on the glass and come back as a high-resolution file.

  • With our digital artists

Our digital artists go over every scan on screen, making sure the colors and the composition are up to par before anything is printed.

  • If you are just starting out

If you are just starting to reproduce your artwork and are looking for some guidance, we are happy to meet with you to provide some options and recommendations for ways to develop your artwork into a business.

Yes to a photograph proofed before it is printed.

Professional photo printing, for a family photograph as much as a professional photographer’s own work. It runs through the same file preparation, color management and color matching as every print in the lab, and the finished print can be mounted and framed without leaving the building.

Best Framing has been the greatest find as a professional art photographer. … I can get my work printed there as well.

Each printer here exists for a different yes.

Fine-art and giclée printing, professional photo printing, large-format, canvas, and direct-to-substrate UV. Color management and color matching run through all of them.

  • What we stock

Clear acrylic, half-inch Baltic birch plywood, and white aluminum composite panels, often called Dibond.

  • What you bring in

If you have a unique idea for an art creation or some signage, bring in the material you would like us to print on, and we will assess its suitability before production.

  • What has already gone through

We love unique and challenging projects. We have printed on leather, ceramic tiles, barnwood, chalkboard, whiteboard, even a welcome mat.

Flatten

Wrinkles are no fun. Divots, waves or crinkles in suitable prints and posters can often be flattened by drymount in our press to acid-free foamcore, after we assess the piece. Canvas mount, fabric mount, and cool mount is also an option.

Cut

Rounded corners, beveled edges, routed holes, and custom shaped outlines are all possible. You can specify the shape and edges of your print on wood, metal, or acrylic.
