Working with a framer on a design project
To start a design project with a framer, send the overall dimensions of the space, the pieces, the finishes you are matching and the install date. From there we quote from your plans and measurements, make the framing, mirrors and artwork under one roof, and our own crew delivers and hangs them.
What to send
- The overall dimensions of the space.
- The pieces, or what still has to be found or printed.
- The finishes you are matching.
- The install date.
Site measurements and consultations are available. Contact us to discuss the scope and any applicable fees.
How it is quoted
There is no price list. Custom work is quoted in person or from your plans and measurements, because no two projects are the same.
Matching a finish
Typical custom framing has limitations related to size and finishes. If you are looking to match a particular finish or have an oversized piece, we can custom mill a moulding profile in our own wood shop and have it hand finished to match your specifications.
Sets, grids and gallery walls
Matched mouldings, matched mats and matched spacing are what make a set read as a single wall rather than as four frames. In a grid, every mat is the same width, so every frame lines up with the one beside it. Multiple openings, lettering and shapes can all be programmed into our mat cutter.
Mirrors, cut to the opening
Bring us the overall dimensions of the space you would like to fill and we will help you select a frame for it; we provide the mirror. All of our mirrors are a quarter-inch thick and can be ordered with or without a bevel. Round mirrors are available as custom projects. They require more complex fabrication and are quoted at a higher cost. Our guide to measuring for a custom mirror covers what to bring.
A client’s own piece
Flatbed scanning up to 600 dpi and archival giclée mean a client’s own piece can be scanned and printed here before anything is framed.
Delivered and hung
Pickup and delivery run in and around Orange County, followed by professional art and mirror installation by our own crew: a single mirror, a gallery wall or a showroom opening. Delivery is available for an additional charge and is quoted separately. “All the joints and mats are lined perfectly,” Broadwillow V. of Newport Beach wrote on Yelp, and that is the part a designer is judged on.
Opening a trade account
A Pro Account asks for your business name and address, and resale documentation may be requested when an order is for resale. An associate will get back to you as soon as possible, or walk in and open one at the counter. More on how we work with the trade is on the interior designers page.
